Baku: In a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Baku, both nations reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen their brotherly relations and enhance mutual cooperation.
The two leaders emphasized the importance of continued close contact and collaboration on regional and global issues, particularly in promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the Muslim world. They reiterated their shared commitment to supporting these goals.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed Pakistan’s determination to transform its relationship with Turkey into a comprehensive partnership, covering political, defense, economic, trade, investment, and people-to-people ties. President Erdogan also emphasized the need to further strengthen Turkey’s relations with Pakistan.
The meeting was also attended by Field Marshal Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff, and Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, who discussed various aspects of the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
Prime Minister Sharif praised the successful events held during the “Pakistan-Turkey Friendship Week,” which reflected the longstanding and strong relationship between the two nations. Both leaders also agreed that a Turkish ministerial delegation would visit Pakistan soon to further enhance trade and economic cooperation.
