Bannu: The Bannu Police successfully foiled a major terrorist plot early this morning in the Basiya Khel area, where miscreants had attempted to destroy the Dawa Pul bridge using an explosion.
According to police reports, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) safely defused an improvised explosive device (IED), which had been constructed from 8 to 10 kilograms of explosives in a bucket. The timely intervention prevented any damage to the bridge or public infrastructure.
RPO Bannu, Sajad Khan, stated that those targeting public spaces will not be spared, and actions against them will continue. He also urged the local residents to keep cooperating with the police in the ongoing efforts to maintain security.
Local residents praised the swift action taken by the police and the BDS, expressing their support for the authorities and emphasizing that miscreants do not deserve any mercy.
