Islamabad: The Prime Minister has formally sent a summary to the President’s House for the appointment of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC).
Once the summary is approved, these appointments will be implemented, marking a significant development in the country’s military leadership.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also approved a two-year extension in the tenure of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff. According to government sources, the decision was made in recognition of his professional services and excellent leadership of the Pakistan Air Force.
