Dambulla : Sri Lanka set a target of 129 runs for Pakistan, which the Green Shirts successfully chased down in 16.4 overs, losing 4 wickets in the process.
Sahibzada Farhan played a brilliant knock, scoring a half-century with 51 runs off 36 balls. Other notable contributions came from Saim Ayub (25), Salman Ali Agha (16), and Fakhar Zaman (5).
Earlier, Sri Lanka had been bowled out for 128 runs in 19.2 overs, with Janith Liyanage top-scoring for them with 40 runs.
Pakistan’s bowlers played a key role, with Salman Mirza and Abrar Ahmed claiming 3 wickets each, while Mohammad Wasim and Shadab Khan took 2 wickets each.
The Pakistan team included Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Ali Agha, Fakhar Zaman, Usman Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Salman Mirza, and Abrar Ahmed.
Sri Lanka’s final XI consisted of Pathum Nissanka, Kamil Mishara, Kusal Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva, Charith Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka, Janith Liyanage, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera, Maheesh Theekshana, and Nuwan Thushara.
The second match of the series will be played on January 9, followed by the third match on January 11.
