Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has praised Basant as an important part of the province’s cultural heritage, reflecting the pride of its people in their historic customs.
In her message to the public, she encouraged everyone to celebrate the festival with joy while being mindful of safety and showing consideration for others during the events.
To ensure easy commuting throughout the three days of Basant, she revealed that 419 buses will be operational across Punjab, and travelers can also enjoy free rides on the Orange Line Metro Train.
The chief minister reiterated that the use of metallic wires, sharp strings, bulletproof materials, or any banned kite strings for flying kites is completely forbidden. She added that drones will be used to monitor the festivities, helping to enforce safety rules and protect the public.
