24 Indian-backed terrorists killed in two separate KP operations: ISPR

Rawalpindi : Pakistan’s security forces successfully eliminated 24 terrorists affiliated with the Indian-backed Fitna al-Khwarij group during two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Friday.

The ISPR statement detailed that following intelligence reports regarding the presence of militants, security forces launched an operation in the Orakzai district. After intense gunfire, 14 militants were killed in the engagement.

In a second operation conducted in Khyber district, another 10 militants were neutralized during the ensuing firefight, according to the military’s media wing.

Sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining militants sponsored by foreign elements in the region.

The ISPR reiterated the commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to the “Azm-e-Istehkam” vision, an initiative approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, aimed at eradicating foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the successful operations and extended their gratitude to the security personnel involved.

In separate statements, both leaders praised the bravery, professionalism, and dedication of the officers and troops who took part in the operations in Orakzai and Khyber districts.

President Zardari emphasized the ongoing, effective fight against terrorism fueled by external forces and reaffirmed that efforts would persist relentlessly until the threat is completely eliminated.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated the government’s strong resolve to combat terrorism and highlighted that under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative, the nation remains united with security forces in thwarting terrorist activities.
