ISLAMABAD: Over 2,700 police officers have been assigned to provide security across Rawalpindi during Eidul Azha, according to a detailed plan issued by the district police.
The comprehensive strategy covers 604 mosques, 72 Imambargahs, and 62 Eidgahs, ensuring safety during religious gatherings.
In addition, traffic police will be actively managing flow on major routes, with more than 650 officers dedicated to keeping roads clear during peak movement hours.
To discourage illegal activities such as motorcycle one-wheeling, police have established 30 special checkpoints throughout the city.
More than 250 officers will be on duty specifically for this task. An additional 230 officers have been deployed at parks and public areas, while more than 270 personnel are assigned to ensure safety and order at local cemeteries. Special patrols and pickets will remain active during the night before Eid to further secure the city.
High-Level Supervision and Special Units Involved
Senior police officers will be physically present in key areas during Eid to supervise and support ground operations. Special units, including the Elite Force, Lady Police, Dolphin Force, and the Muhafiz Squad, will work jointly with local police to maintain law and order.
Mobile units and motorcycle patrols will remain active in residential and commercial areas, especially during late-night hours and on Eid day itself.
Top Priority: Public Safety
SSP Operations Kashif Zulfiqar stated that all available resources will be used to ensure foolproof security for Eidul Azha. City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani emphasized that the safety of lives and property remains the highest priority for Rawalpindi police.
Efforts are being made to provide citizens with a secure environment during the festive season.
