China sends special envoy to mediate Middle East ceasefire

Beijing : In response to rising global tensions and ongoing military actions involving Iran, China has announced it will take an active role in promoting peace and stability in the region.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that a special envoy will be dispatched immediately to revive negotiations between the conflicting parties. A spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs told reporters that China is committed to halting bloodshed and pursuing diplomatic solutions.

China has urged all sides to cease military operations immediately to prevent further loss of life, with the envoy tasked with bringing the parties back to the negotiating table. Officials also warned that escalating tensions threaten not only regional security but also global trade and economic stability, particularly in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

Highlighting its growing influence, China noted that past diplomatic efforts—such as mediating peace agreements between Iran and Saudi Arabia—demonstrate its ability to act as a key regional mediator and enhance its global standing.
