Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered robust security measures at bus terminals, commercial hubs, and marketplaces ahead of the upcoming ‘Chand Raat’ festivities.
In a statement released Thursday, she directed authorities to deploy additional security personnel in crowded shopping areas and called for women police teams to actively patrol, ensuring protection against harassment and safeguarding citizens.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need to maintain the safety of women and children throughout the celebrations.
She also instructed the use of advanced surveillance tools, including drone cameras and night vision binoculars, and ordered strict monitoring to curb risky activities, such as one-wheeling on roads during the festive evening.
