Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker on Thursday, where both sides held detailed discussions on the evolving regional situation.
The meeting also covered ongoing diplomatic efforts, including preparations for the second round of the Islamabad Dialogue. Both sides agreed that sustained engagement through diplomatic channels is crucial for achieving a lasting resolution to the conflict.
During the talks, Naqvi welcomed US President Donald Trump’s decision to extend the ceasefire, calling it a constructive step toward reducing tensions. He also expressed hope that Iran would respond in a similarly positive manner.
He noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir were making comprehensive efforts at all levels to help bring about a peaceful solution.
Naqvi stressed the importance of dialogue and urged all parties to prioritize peaceful means for resolving disputes.
