Washington : US President Donald Trump has warned that any ship suspected of placing mines in the Strait of Hormuz must be eliminated immediately, with no delay or restraint.
In a social media statement, he instructed the US Navy to take swift action against all vessels under suspicion, whether large or small, involved in such activities.
Trump further asserted that 159 hostile naval vessels have already been destroyed, while US minesweeping forces continue ongoing clearance operations in the Strait of Hormuz.
He also called for a threefold increase in operational activity in the region, stressing that there should be zero tolerance for hesitation or leniency in response to such threats.
