Changsha: President Asif Ali Zardari has awarded the Sitara-e-Pakistan to Professor Pan Xiangbin in recognition of his outstanding services in cardiac care and his efforts for patients in Pakistan.
The award was presented at a special ceremony held in Changsha, located in China’s Hunan Province.
Professor Pan visited Pakistan in January last year, where he and his medical team performed complex, life-saving procedures on children suffering from congenital heart disease.
During the same visit, the team also provided training to Pakistani medical professionals in advanced interventional cardiology techniques to help strengthen local healthcare capacity.
The president stated that such contributions have significantly supported Pakistan’s healthcare system and reflect the growing practical cooperation between Pakistan and China in the medical sector.
