Lahore: Maryam Nawaz Sharif has placed all relevant departments and district administrations on high alert as heavy rainfall continues across Punjab.
She directed Water and Sanitation Agencies (WASA) and local authorities to remain active in the field and ensure immediate drainage of rainwater to prevent inconvenience for citizens.
The chief minister ordered continuous monitoring of drainage operations and instructed officials to personally supervise arrangements so that urban centres and low-lying areas do not face water accumulation.
She stressed that standing rainwater must be cleared without delay and called for full deployment of available machinery and field staff wherever needed.
Maryam Nawaz also instructed authorities to ensure smooth traffic flow by keeping traffic police fully mobilised during the ongoing spell of rain across the province.
