Islamabad:In New Delhi, Indian authorities have harassed Pakistani diplomats and ordered them to vacate their residences early.. Reliable sources say that several diplomats have been asked to leave their official residences before the expiration of their housing contracts.
So far, four to five diplomats have received eviction orders. Their internet services have also been disrupted intermittently, and their movements are under continuous surveillance, hampering their official duties.
These developments raise serious concerns about violations of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which requires host nations to provide diplomats with protection and freedom to carry out their work.
The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not yet commented on the situation, but analysts warn that these actions may escalate tensions between Pakistan and India further.
