Doha: In a forceful statement, Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has condemned Israel’s recent airstrike on Doha, describing it as an unambiguous act of state aggression that threatens regional peace and stability.
Addressing the media hours after the attack, the Prime Minister asserted that Qatar will not limit its response to verbal condemnations. Instead, the country is preparing to take firm legal and diplomatic actions against Israel on international platforms.
A dedicated team of legal specialists is being assembled to scrutinize the incident under international law and seek accountability for the strike, Al Thani announced. He warned that the attack marks a critical escalation that demands a unified response from all nations in the region.
“This assault goes beyond targeting Qatar; it is an attempt to destabilize the broader Middle East,” he said. “We call upon regional allies to stand united against such hostile moves that undermine efforts toward peace.”
Highlighting the timing of the strike, the Prime Minister revealed that Hamas negotiators in Doha were actively engaged in discussions over U.S.-facilitated ceasefire proposals when the airstrike occurred. He accused Israel of deliberately sabotaging these peace initiatives.
The airstrike, which targeted senior Hamas leadership operating out of Doha, has sent shockwaves across the region and elicited concern from global actors urging restraint.
