Pakistani social media users expose Sky News’ false anti-Pakistan claims

Lahore : Pakistani social media users have exposed misleading reports by Sky News targeting Pakistan.

The outlet had falsely claimed that Pakistan was attacked by the Afghan Air Force, a claim that quickly sparked widespread criticism online. Under public pressure, the post was deleted. Thousands of Pakistanis on social media dismissed the report, pointing out that “the Afghan Air Force does not even exist” and labeling the claim entirely baseless.

This is not the first time Sky News has faced criticism for allegedly spreading false narratives against Pakistan and its armed forces. Anchor Yalda Hakim, of Afghan origin, has previously been accused of promoting anti-Pakistan narratives, which has drawn scrutiny and debate on social media platforms.

Pakistani users condemned the news outlet for unprofessional reporting, arguing that spreading false information violates basic journalistic principles. The episode has reignited questions about the credibility and reliability of the organization’s reporting.
