Rawalpindi : Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has strongly condemned the use of Afghan territory by terrorist groups Fitna al Khawarij and Fitna al Hindustan to target Pakistan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), he made these remarks while visiting Wana in South Waziristan to assess the security situation and operational readiness along the country’s western frontier.
The Field Marshal stated that Pakistan would take all necessary actions to eliminate threats emanating from across the border. He highlighted that lasting peace can only be achieved if the Afghan Taliban withdraws support for terrorism and extremist organizations operating against Pakistan.
During his visit, Syed Asim Munir was briefed comprehensively on the current security landscape, ongoing intelligence-driven operations, and measures implemented for effective border management. The briefing also included updates on Operation Ghazab lil Haq and recent developments along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
The COAS interacted with officers and troops stationed in forward positions, lauding their professionalism, vigilance, morale, and dedication to protecting Pakistan’s sovereignty. He expressed full confidence in the preparedness, coordination, and resilience of the forces deployed along the border.
Paying tribute to the nation’s martyrs, the Field Marshal laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument and offered Fateha, emphasizing that their sacrifices remain the foundation of Pakistan’s security and strength.
On arrival, he was warmly received by the Corps Commander Peshawar.
