Tehran: Iran has announced preferential arrangements for Russian and Chinese ships transiting through the strategic Strait of Hormuz, according to foreign media reports.
Ibrahim Azizi, who heads the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said that vessels belonging to Russia and China would receive special facilitation when passing through the key maritime route.
He added that Tehran is pursuing a more strategic and priority-based approach in strengthening ties with its close allies, focusing on expanding cooperation in different sectors.
Azizi also referred to recent discussions between Iran and Pakistan, describing them as important, while clarifying that the issue of transferring enriched uranium has not been included in the ongoing dialogue.
He further stated that nuclear-related matters are not part of Iran’s current engagement with the United States.
According to him, Iran continues to review and adjust its policies in line with its national security needs and long-term strategic interests.
