PIA to resume direct Islamabad–Beijing flights from July 3

Islamabad : Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the reinstatement of its direct flight operation between Islamabad and Beijing starting July 3, a development expected to enhance connectivity and further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and China.

The restoration of the non-stop air link between the two capitals comes amid increasing demand from students, business professionals, tourists, and families who regularly travel between the two countries. The service is aimed at providing a quicker, more efficient, and convenient travel option.

PIA stated that the renewed route will offer passengers competitive ticket prices, improved baggage allowances, and a more comfortable flying experience, while also significantly cutting travel time by removing transit stops.

The move has been widely welcomed, particularly by students from both countries enrolled in educational institutions in Pakistan and China. Representatives from the education and travel sectors have termed the decision timely, especially ahead of the new academic year and peak summer travel period.

Analysts suggest that the resumption of direct flights will facilitate easier movement for students, researchers, and academics, thereby promoting stronger academic cooperation and educational exchange programs between the two nations.

The revived service is also expected to boost tourism by making travel more convenient for families and holidaymakers during the summer season. Travel industry stakeholders have reported strong interest from the public following the announcement, highlighting the importance of direct connectivity between the two capitals.

In its statement, PIA management reaffirmed its commitment to improving air links and supporting cooperation in areas such as trade, tourism, education, and cultural exchange.

The airline added that the restoration of the route is part of broader efforts to strengthen people-to-people contacts and deepen bilateral relations between Pakistan and China.

The resumption of the Islamabad–Beijing service marks a significant step in enhancing regional connectivity and reflects PIA’s continued role in promoting travel and reinforcing the long-standing strategic partnership between the two countries.
