Severe flood devastation in Alipur, Bahawalnagar, and Haripur; victims face hardships

Alipur : Flash floods have caused severe destruction across several areas including Alipur, Bahawalnagar, and Haripur. In the villages of Khairpur Sadat and Mithanwala, numerous houses have been demolished, while low-lying areas remain submerged under several feet of water. Residents of Shujaabad have started gradually returning to their homes.

In Haripur, a van was swept off Railway Road by floodwaters and fell off a bridge, injuring the driver.

In Bahawalnagar, floods from the Sutlej River have impacted 145 villages over a 150-kilometer river belt. Severe damage was reported in Basti Kharlan and the village of Ako, where roads were washed away and communication links severed. More than 140,000 acres of crops have also been destroyed.

In Manchanabad, ground access to over 15 villages has been cut off, with floodwater depths reaching between 5 and 7 feet in affected areas.

The government and relief agencies have launched immediate rescue and relief operations in the affected regions. Despite these efforts, the situation remains critical. Special teams are actively working to provide urgent aid to victims and to assess the full extent of the damage.
