ISLAMABAD: Pakistani authorities have safely repatriated approximately 1,800 citizens from Iran through land routes as tensions escalate in the Middle East.
The returning groups include pilgrims, students, and businesspersons who crossed via the Taftan and Gabad-Rimdan borders under tight security arrangements.
Organized Repatriation Efforts Underway
Assistant Commissioner Taftan Naeem Qasim Shahwani confirmed the arrival of 481 evacuees in Quetta on Thursday night.
Officials are providing comprehensive support at border facilities, including temporary accommodation at Pakistan House for incoming citizens.
A convoy of five coaches transported 200 returnees from Taftan to Quetta earlier this week, comprising 80 pilgrims and 120 students.
Cross-Border Coordination Ensures Safety
The evacuation operation spans multiple entry points, with Gwadar’s Gabad-Rimdan crossing actively processing returning nationals.
According to Foreign Office data, nearly 3,000 Pakistanis have been successfully brought home through various routes since the crisis began.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, prioritizing citizen safety amid the volatile regional security environment.
