ISLAMABAD: Jacobabad recorded a scorching temperature of 49°C as a severe heatwave grips upper and central Sindh.
Several cities experienced extreme heat on Monday, with temperatures soaring to 45°C or above.
The Met Department warned that the intense heatwave, driven by a high-pressure system, will continue until June 12.
Heatwave Impact Across Sindh
Jacobabad was the hottest city at 49°C, followed by Dadu at 47°C and Khairpur at 46°C.
Coastal areas experienced milder weather, with Karachi recording a maximum of 34.4°C.
Officials advised residents to avoid direct sunlight, stay well hydrated, and use water carefully during this period.
Weather Advisory and Safety Measures
The Met Department forecast daytime temperatures 3-5°C above normal, especially in upper and central Sindh.
Authorities urged the public to take precautions to minimize health risks amid the ongoing heatwave.
