ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially released the revised syllabus for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025.
The updated syllabus is now accessible on the PMDC’s official website for students preparing for this year’s entrance exam.
The MDCAT is scheduled to be held in the last week of September or the first week of October 2025, though the exact date is yet to be finalized.
Key Changes in the Exam Structure
The new MDCAT will cover five main subjects: English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Logical Reasoning.
The test will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to be answered within three hours.
Importantly, the exam will not include negative marking, providing some relief to the candidates.
To qualify for admission, candidates must achieve a minimum score of 55% for medical colleges and 50% for dental colleges.
PMDC’s Efforts for Transparency and Merit
The updated syllabus was developed with input from academic experts, examination boards, and universities to ensure it reflects current educational standards.
According to the PMDC President, these changes aim to promote merit-based admissions and increase transparency in the selection process.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the PMDC website for the latest updates and detailed information regarding the MDCAT exam.
