ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held key meetings with the leadership of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during a day-long official visit to Abu Dhabi, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and promoting regional peace and stability.
He was received by UAE’s National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al-Nahyan upon arrival.
Later, he met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan to discuss mutual cooperation, economic development, and diplomatic collaboration.

Strategic Partnership and Regional Cooperation
During the high-level talks, both leaders expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral relations.
They emphasized the importance of maintaining close communication and cooperation in regional affairs.
PM Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to its partnership with the UAE and invited President Al-Nahyan to visit Pakistan.
The UAE recently supported Pakistan with a $2 billion debt rollover and has signed several MoUs in recent months to enhance bilateral engagement.
Strong Delegation and Mutual Interests
The prime minister was accompanied by a high-powered delegation including Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), PM Shehbaz thanked the UAE for its vital role in diffusing tensions in the region, particularly with India.

He praised the deep-rooted trust and cooperation between the two countries, especially in trade, investment, and expatriate relations.
The UAE remains one of Pakistan’s largest trading partners in the region and a critical source of remittances.
