WhatsApp introducing instant voice mail for missed calls

California: WhatsApp is gearing up to launch a handy new feature named Voice Mail, designed to let users quickly leave a voice message whenever a call goes unanswered.

As revealed by WhatsApp Beta Info, once a call on WhatsApp isn’t picked up, users will see a new “Record Voice Message” button alongside the usual “Call Again” and “Cancel” options. This feature will also be integrated directly within the chat window, providing easy access.

Although sending voice notes via the chat’s microphone button has been possible for a while, these dedicated shortcuts aim to streamline the process, allowing users to respond faster and more naturally after a missed call.

Currently, this feature is rolling out to select beta testers on Android devices, with no confirmed timeline for a wider release.

This development promises to enhance communication on the platform by bridging the gap between missed calls and instant responses.
