Pakistan, Italy sign agreement to waive visa requirement for diplomatic passports

Rome : Pakistan and Italy have signed an agreement abolishing the visa requirement for holders of diplomatic passports, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations.

The agreement was formally signed in Rome by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Italy Ali Javed and Italy’s Secretary General for Foreign Affairs Ambassador Riccardo Guariglia.

Prior to the signing ceremony, officials from both countries held detailed discussions on the full spectrum of long-standing and friendly bilateral relations.

They also exchanged views on cooperation in multilateral platforms, including the United Nations and the European Union.

Representatives from both sides described the agreement as a reflection of mutual trust and strong friendship between Pakistan and Italy.

They added that the arrangement would further enhance the existing framework of institutional cooperation and facilitate closer diplomatic engagement.

The visa waiver deal is expected to ease official travel for diplomatic personnel, encourage regular high-level exchanges, and deepen bilateral ties between the two countries.
