Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar highlighted Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic efforts, mentioning that during the country’s presidency at the United Nations, a consensus resolution on Gaza was passed, which continues to generate discussion at global forums.
In a press briefing, Dar underscored Pakistan’s firm and decisive stance on Palestine, revealing that high-level meetings were held with the President of the UN General Assembly, the U.S. Secretary of State, and foreign ministers from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
He also noted that a trilateral meeting in Kabul focused on critical issues, including the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the expansion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and ongoing railway projects. Dar further mentioned his interactions with Kashmiri leaders, business figures, and the Pakistani diaspora in the United Kingdom.
In a significant development, Dar announced that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will begin direct flights to Manchester in September, alongside the activation of the Passport One-Window Operation in the UK.
