Haris’ Blazing Century Powers Pakistan to T20 Series Sweep Over Bangladesh

LAHORE: Pakistan completed a dominant 3-0 series whitewash against Bangladesh in emphatic fashion, with Mohammad Haris smashing a sensational 107 off 46 balls—the fastest T20I century by a Pakistani—to chase down 197 with 16 balls to spare at Gaddafi Stadium.

Haris’ Maiden Ton Steals the Show

The 23-year-old wicketkeeper-batter unleashed a brutal assault, hitting 8 fours and 7 sixes, becoming Pakistan’s first non-opener to score a T20I hundred.

After losing Sahibzada Farhan early, Haris partnered with Saim Ayub (45 off 29) in a 92-run stand, dismantling Bangladesh’s bowling with fearless strokeplay.

His fifty came off just 24 balls, and he accelerated further to reach triple figures in 45 deliveries, sealing Pakistan’s first home series win since December 2021.

Pakistan’s Bowling Fightback

Earlier, Bangladesh posted 196/6 thanks to Parvez Hossain’s 34-ball 66 and Tanzid Hasan’s 42 in a 110-run opening stand.

However, Abbas Afridi (2-26) and Hasan Ali (2-38) restricted the visitors in the death overs, conceding just 46 runs in the last five overs to keep the chase manageable.

The victory showcased Pakistan’s aggressive new approach under captain Salman Ali Agha, with Haris emerging as a potential superstar in the post-Babar Azam era.
