Imran Khan Rejects Polygraph Test for Fourth Time in May 9 Investigations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan has refused to undergo a polygraph test for the fourth consecutive time in connection with the May 9 cases.

The latest rejection came as a Lahore police investigation team arrived at Adiala Jail to conduct the examination.

Investigation Team Returns Empty-Handed

A specialized team led by DSP Asif Javed, including forensic experts from Punjab’s investigation unit, visited Adiala Jail to administer the test.

The team, comprising inspectors Muhammad Tasaddaq, Saleem, Naveed, and forensic specialist Abid Ayub, sought to question Khan regarding 11 FIRs registered in Lahore related to last year’s violent protests.

However, they departed without conducting any tests after Khan maintained his refusal.

Persistent Standoff Continues

This marks the fourth failed attempt by authorities to conduct polygraph, photogrammetric, and voice-matching tests on the former prime minister.

The May 9 cases stem from widespread protests and alleged attacks on military installations following Khan’s arrest last year.

The repeated rejections have prolonged the high-profile investigation, with no resolution in sight as Khan maintains his stance against participating in these forensic examinations.

The standoff highlights the ongoing tensions between the imprisoned former leader and law enforcement agencies, with the investigation into the May 9 incidents remaining at an impasse.

Authorities have yet to announce their next steps following the latest refusal.
