ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has directed authorities to provide furniture to every enrolled student in government schools across the province under the ongoing educational emergency.
Speaking at a meeting to finalize the next Annual Development Programme (ADP), Gandapur emphasized that no student should be forced to sit on the floor due to lack of basic furniture.
The Chief Minister instructed that the furniture provision project must be completed within the upcoming fiscal year.
He assured that all necessary funds will be allocated as a top priority to ensure that schools are equipped with proper chairs, desks, clean drinking water, and functional washrooms.
Focus on Improving Education Quality
During the meeting, Gandapur called for launching special programs aimed at raising education standards in government schools.
He stressed the importance of modern training for teachers, making it mandatory for all new recruits to receive updated professional development.
The goal is to enhance teaching quality and create a supportive learning environment for students.
The session involved detailed review of development proposals from various departments, including education, health, irrigation, local government, and communications.
Each project was carefully assessed for inclusion in the upcoming ADP, which will serve as a roadmap for the province’s development over the next four years.
Transparent and Inclusive Development Plan
The Chief Minister emphasized that the new ADP would prioritize projects based on actual community needs and input from elected representatives.
Funds will be focused on completing ongoing schemes, with over 80% of projects nearing completion expected to finish in the next year.
Gandapur pledged equal attention to all constituencies, especially underdeveloped areas, ensuring no discrimination in project allocation.
“This plan will ensure wise and effective use of taxpayers’ money and will deliver solid, practical benefits to the people of KP,” he said.
