Islamabad: The Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has filed an intra-court appeal challenging the Islamabad High Court’s decision to remove him from office.
The appeal, submitted under the Intra-Court Appeal Ordinance of 1972, argues that the appellant was initially appointed as Member (Administration) on May 24, 2023, and was subsequently promoted to the position of Chairman on May 25, 2023.
In the petition, the appellant contends that the High Court’s ruling was unjust, and that the appeal seeks to validate the legality of his appointment. He has also requested the court to fix the case for an urgent hearing.
It is important to note that earlier today, the Islamabad High Court ordered the removal of the PTA Chairman from his position, prompting this immediate legal response.
