U.S. President Donald Trump has strongly rejected French President Emmanuel Macron’s claim that his return to Washington aims solely to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. Trump clarified that his objective goes far beyond a temporary truce — he demands a genuine and complete resolution to the conflict.
Macron’s Claim Called Misleading
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump criticized Macron for mistakenly suggesting that he left the G7 summit in Canada to negotiate a ceasefire. “Macron is a publicity seeker who often gets things wrong,” Trump said, emphasizing that the situation requires more than just a pause in hostilities.
Nuclear Issue and Regional Stability
Trump indicated that a real solution to Iran’s nuclear program is paramount. Reports suggest that senior U.S. officials may soon engage in talks with Iranian representatives. Trump warned that Israel is unlikely to stop its military actions against Iran soon, and the coming days will reveal the true direction of the conflict. He insisted that Iran must completely disarm for any meaningful peace.
Rising Casualties and Regional Tensions
The aerial conflict between Israel and Iran began last Friday and has already claimed over 220 Iranian and 24 Israeli lives. The ongoing hostilities are further destabilizing the Middle East. While Western nations pressure Iran to halt nuclear weapons development, Iran maintains its program is peaceful.
