ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to review the outcomes of a recent diplomatic mission to the United States and Europe.
During the meeting, Bilawal briefed the Prime Minister on the delegation’s engagements and the successful promotion of Pakistan’s stance on various global issues.
The Prime Minister commended the delegation for effectively countering Indian propaganda and articulating Pakistan’s narrative with clarity and confidence.
He appreciated the team’s professionalism, patriotism, and dedication during their visits to Washington, London, and several European capitals.
PM Shehbaz Praises Team’s Performance
PM Shehbaz hosted a dinner in honour of the diplomatic delegation, praising their unified voice in defending Pakistan’s national interests.
“You have returned with honour and presented Pakistan’s case with integrity and passion,” the Prime Minister
stated, adding that the team’s efforts were being acknowledged both domestically and internationally.
Special recognition was given to Bilawal Bhutto for his leadership during the mission, along with key contributors including Sherry Rehman, Dr Musadik Malik, Hina Rabbani Khar, Senator Bushra Anjum Butt, Senator Faisal Sabzwari, Engineer Khurram Dastgir, Jalil Abbas Jilani, and Tehmina Janjua.
National Security and Budget Acknowledgements
PM Shehbaz further noted that the delegation effectively addressed important issues such as the Pahalgam tragedy and the Indus Waters Treaty.
He credited the success of Pakistan’s strategic position to prayers of the nation, Allah’s blessings, and the professional strength of the armed forces.
In a separate note of appreciation, the Prime Minister thanked coalition partners, particularly the PPP, for supporting the federal budget for 2025–26.
He emphasized that with continued unity, Pakistan can confront and overcome internal and external challenges.
Senior officials attending the dinner included Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Law Minister Azam Tarar, Economic Affairs Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistants Rana Sanaullah, Talha Barkai, and Tariq Fatemi.
