ISLAMABAD: Pakistani megastars Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed were honoured in the United Arab Emirates during a special ceremony hosted by Pakistani Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi.
The event recognized their contributions to Pakistan’s film industry as they promote their upcoming romantic comedy, Love Guru, which is set to release this Eid ul Azha.

The ambassador presented commemorative shields to both actors, praising their dedication and achievements. He emphasized Pakistan’s rich cultural and artistic diversity and highlighted the creative industry’s importance as a tool of soft power that shapes global perceptions of Pakistan.
The event underscored how film and entertainment can strengthen cultural ties and elevate Pakistan’s image internationally.
Historic Promotion and Film Details
Love Guru recently made history by becoming the first Pakistani film trailer to be showcased on New York City’s iconic Times Square giant digital screens.
The trailer launch attracted a large crowd, including fans and members of the South Asian diaspora, who gathered to see the stars unveil the preview.

In the film, Humayun Saeed plays a flirtatious character posing as a relationship expert, while Mahira Khan portrays an architect whom he tries to win over.
The romantic comedy is generating excitement as it nears its Eid ul Azha release.
This honour in the UAE adds to the film’s successful promotional tour across the US, UK, and Canada, where the stars engaged in red carpet events, fan meet-and-greets, and exclusive press interviews, further amplifying Pakistani cinema on the world stage.
