Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee in Islamabad to review the ongoing privatization process of Distribution Companies (DISCOs).
During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the purpose of privatization is to improve efficiency, strengthen service delivery, and ensure financial stability in the power distribution sector.
He added that effective regulation and strong oversight mechanisms are essential to protect consumer interests and maintain transparency and accountability throughout the process.
The committee expressed satisfaction over the progress achieved so far and directed the Privatization Commission to complete the process within the agreed timelines.
