Abu Dhabi : The United Arab Emirates has successfully neutralized a large-scale attack by Iran, using its advanced air and missile defense systems to prevent any direct strikes on its territory. The assault included ballistic missiles, drones, and cruise missiles, according to the UAE Ministry of Defense.
In a press statement, a Ministry spokesperson revealed that Iran launched 174 ballistic missiles, of which 161 were intercepted mid-air by UAE defense forces. The remaining 13 missiles fell into the sea, causing no significant harm or damage.
The offensive also involved 689 drones, out of which 645 were shot down before reaching their targets. Furthermore, 8 cruise missiles were destroyed while airborne, ensuring that populated areas remained unaffected.
Although the interceptions prevented direct hits, falling debris led to 3 deaths and 68 injuries, with minor damage reported to some residential and civilian structures. Officials confirmed that no missile or drone landed directly on UAE soil.
The Ministry of Defense reaffirmed that the UAE’s territorial integrity and national security will not be compromised. The spokesperson highlighted the effectiveness of the country’s defense systems in detecting and eliminating all incoming threats in a timely manner.
“The UAE remains fully prepared to defend its people and territory, and we continue to stay alert against any hostile activity,” the spokesperson stated.
This incident demonstrates the UAE’s capability to counter sophisticated attacks and its ongoing commitment to protecting its citizens, even against complex regional threats.
