Lahore: In the recent Senate elections within the Punjab Assembly, Hafiz Abdul Karim, the candidate supported by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), achieved a significant victory. Preliminary unofficial results show that he secured 243 votes, while his opponent from the opposition, Abdul Sattar, received only 99 votes. Out of 345 total votes cast, 3 were rejected.
The announcement of Hafiz Abdul Karim’s success was met with cheers and applause in the assembly, with PML-N members celebrating by throwing flower petals. This result is being interpreted as a clear indication of the ruling coalition’s firm hold over Punjab politics.
