Islamabad: Pakistan has once again taken a pioneering step in adopting modern technology by becoming one of the first countries in the Asia-Pacific region to approve the 6 GHz band for Wi-Fi 7. This move is being hailed as a significant milestone toward providing the country with faster and more reliable wireless connectivity.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has approved the use of the 6 GHz band to adopt the new Wi-Fi 7 standards, which promise speeds multiple times faster and significantly lower latency compared to previously used bands. This new technology is expected to accelerate digital growth in smart cities, educational institutions, business centers, and other sectors.
Experts say that Wi-Fi 7’s high-speed and efficient connectivity will strengthen Pakistan’s digital infrastructure and give the country a competitive edge in the global technology market. The approval will not only enhance internet speeds but also increase integration opportunities with emerging technologies like AI, IoT, and 5G.
PTA officials stated that this approval reflects Pakistan’s commitment to empowering the Digital Pakistan initiative and providing consumers with the latest technological facilities.
