Second T20: Pakistan defeat South Africa by 9 wickets

LAHORE: Pakistan comfortably defeated South Africa by 9 wickets in the second T20, leveling the series 1-1.

Chasing a target of 111 runs, Pakistan reached the total with ease, losing only one wicket in 14 overs.

Pakistan’s captain, Salman Ali Agha, won the toss and opted to bowl first. His decision paid off as Pakistan’s bowlers dismissed South Africa for a mere 110 runs.

In a tactical change, Salman Mirza replaced Shaheen Afridi in the playing XI for this match.

South Africa’s Innings:
South Africa’s batting line-up struggled from the outset against Pakistan’s potent bowling attack. The Proteas could not settle, with wickets falling regularly, and the entire team was dismissed for just 110 runs in 19.2 overs.

Only two South African batters reached double figures: Dewald Brevis with 25 and Donovan Ferreira with 15. Corbin Bosch and Bartman added 11 and 12 runs, respectively.

Pakistan’s Bowling:
Faheem Ashraf led the charge with the ball, claiming 4 wickets for 23 runs. Salman Mirza impressed with 3 wickets for just 14 runs. Naseem Shah contributed with 2 wickets, while Abrar Ahmed picked up 1 wicket.

Pakistan’s Innings:
Pakistan chased down the target of 111 runs effortlessly, completing the task in just 14 overs. Sahibzada Farhan scored 28 runs before being dismissed, while Saim Ayub played an explosive knock of 71 from 38 balls. Babar Azam remained unbeaten on 11 runs as Pakistan sealed the victory.

This commanding win leveled the series at 1-1, with the deciding match scheduled for tomorrow in Lahore.
