Muzaffarabad : The no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Assembly has been successfully passed, leading to the election of Faisal Mumtaz Rathore of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) as the new Prime Minister with 36 votes in his favor. Only 2 votes were cast in opposition.
The motion was presented by Sardar Javed Ayub, Chaudhry Qasim Mehmood, and other members. Following the outcome, PM Anwarul Haq stated that it was unfair to hold him solely responsible for the issues, emphasizing that the cabinet ministers should also be considered accountable.
After the vote, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore will take the oath of office, and the outgoing Prime Minister, Anwarul Haq, expressed his best wishes to the newly elected leader and cabinet before departing from the Assembly.
