Rawalpindi : Pakistan’s security forces have successfully completed Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1 in Balochistan, eliminating at least 216 terrorists in a series of coordinated and intelligence-driven operations, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Thursday.
The operation, launched on January 29, 2026, targeted Indian-backed terrorist groups seeking to disrupt peace and development by attacking innocent civilians, including women and children. Initial actions in Panjgur and Harnai districts led to the killing of 41 terrorists affiliated with Indian proxy networks.
Following this, security forces intensified efforts, thwarting attacks by “Fitna al Hindustan” aimed at destabilizing Balochistan. A wider campaign dismantled terrorist sleeper cells through sustained combing and clearance operations across multiple areas.
The ISPR highlighted that these meticulously planned operations significantly weakened terrorist leadership, command structures, and operational capabilities. Additionally, large quantities of foreign-made weapons, ammunition, explosives, and equipment were recovered, confirming external logistical support for these groups.
Tragically, 36 innocent civilians, including women and children, lost their lives during the operation. Moreover, 22 security personnel and law enforcement officers sacrificed their lives defending Pakistan’s sovereignty and protecting its citizens. The military lauded their bravery and professionalism, honoring the highest traditions of service.
The Pakistan Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to combat terrorism under the National Action Plan (NAP), pledging to continue operations until the complete eradication of terrorist threats.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces and law enforcement agencies for their effective and timely response. They condemned the hostile designs of “Fitna al Hindustan” and emphasized that eliminating terrorism, especially foreign-backed elements, remains a national priority.
Both leaders paid tribute to the martyrs, extending condolences to their families and highlighting the nation’s unity in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscored the professionalism displayed by the forces, stressing that the operation dealt a significant blow to militants attempting to undermine peace and development in Balochistan. He vowed that any attacks targeting innocent civilians would be decisively defeated.
Reiterating the government’s resolve, the Prime Minister assured that the campaign against terrorism will continue until the threat is fully neutralized, with the people of Pakistan standing united alongside the armed forces to safeguard the country’s future.
