Norwegian FM meets CDF Asim Munir, appreciates Pakistan’s role in regional peace

Rawalpindi : Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, heading a high-level delegation, met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Thursday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on matters of shared interest, regional security developments and bilateral relations between Pakistan and Norway.

Field Marshal Asim Munir briefed the visiting dignitary on Pakistan’s position regarding international peace and regional stability. He also stressed the importance of joint efforts and greater cooperation to tackle common security concerns.

The Norwegian foreign minister acknowledged the professional contribution of the Pakistan Armed Forces towards maintaining peace and stability in the region.

Both sides expressed their commitment to deepening Pakistan-Norway relations and broadening cooperation, particularly in the fields of defence and security.
