Beijing / Tehran : Amid mounting tensions in the Middle East, China has reaffirmed its strong support for Iran, emphasizing respect for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
According to an official statement, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, during which he reiterated Beijing’s commitment to standing by Tehran in safeguarding its national security.
Wang reportedly condemned recent military strikes carried out by the United States and Israel, terming them violations of international law and the principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter.
He stressed that Iran’s sovereignty must be upheld under all circumstances and warned that continued hostilities could push the region toward a broader and more destructive conflict. China expressed concern that further escalation would undermine regional stability.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that Wang underscored the importance of resolving disputes through political dialogue and diplomatic engagement rather than military action. He noted that no country should impose its will on others through force.
Beijing reaffirmed its intention to play a constructive role in promoting dialogue, easing tensions, and supporting efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace in the region.
