PM Shehbaz updates Iranian President on Pakistan’s diplomatic push for peace

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing attacks on Iran on Saturday, highlighting recent strikes that targeted civilian facilities.

In a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian lasting over an hour, the premier updated him on Pakistan’s active diplomatic measures to reduce regional tensions.

PM Shehbaz said that, together with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan has been engaging with the United States, Gulf states, and other Islamic nations to create conditions conducive to dialogue.

He added that Pakistan’s peace initiative has received positive responses at multiple levels and expressed hope that collaborative efforts could help find a viable solution to the conflict. The prime minister also reiterated Pakistan’s support for the Iranian people and recognized the difficulties they are facing.

PM Shehbaz extended condolences for the loss of over 1,900 lives and offered prayers for those injured or displaced by the attacks.

President Pezeshkian appreciated Pakistan’s engagement and shared Iran’s perspective on ongoing Israeli aggression. He stressed that trust-building is essential for meaningful mediation or negotiation and commended Pakistan for its constructive role.

PM Shehbaz thanked the Iranian president and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting regional peace and stability through continuous diplomatic efforts.
