No area will remain lawless in Punjab: Azma Bokhari

Lahore : Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has stated that, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the government is committed to establishing the rule of law throughout the province, ensuring that no region of Punjab is left as a “no-go area.”

Speaking at a press briefing in Lahore, she highlighted recent progress regarding the ongoing crackdown in the riverine (Kacha) belt.

She said that a successful operation has led to the clearance of the Kacha region, adding that sustained government pressure and an effective strategy have forced criminals to lay down their arms and surrender.

Azma Bokhari remarked that the area known as “Kacha” will no longer remain undeveloped or uncontrolled, stating that efforts are underway to transform it into a fully settled and stable region under state authority.

She further emphasized that the government is following a strict zero-tolerance approach toward crime, warning that no one challenging the authority of the state will be allowed to continue unlawful activities.

She also noted that residents of the Kacha areas will now experience improved security and development as the state strengthens its presence and governance in the region.
