Islamabad : Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s determination to further enhance its All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership with China, stating that the latest understandings between the two sides should now be swiftly turned into practical implementation.
He made these remarks during a meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, who called on him to discuss matters of mutual interest.
The prime minister emphasized that the outcomes of his recent visit to China must be put into action without delay. He stressed expanding cooperation under the upgraded CPEC 2.0 framework, particularly in agriculture, information technology, industrial development, Special Economic Zones, and the mining and minerals sector.
He further highlighted the importance of ensuring timely execution of agreements and MoUs signed between Pakistani and Chinese companies during the Business-to-Business Investment Conference in Hangzhou.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed progress on the Karakoram Highway realignment project and exchanged views on strengthening collaboration in defence, security, and counterterrorism. They also discussed broader economic and financial ties, along with regional and global developments.
The Chinese envoy reaffirmed Beijing’s continued commitment to its long-standing partnership with Pakistan, assuring that China remains dedicated to deepening cooperation and expanding engagement across all key sectors.
