Istanbul: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the late Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Shaheed Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, praising him as an exceptional statesman whose vision, leadership and lasting legacy will continue to influence generations in Iran and the wider region.
In a statement shared on his X account, the prime minister said he attended the funeral ceremony of Shaheed Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, where he paid his respects and conveyed sincere condolences to the Iranian government and people on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also reaffirmed that Pakistan stands firmly with Iran during this period of national mourning, stressing that, as a close and brotherly neighbour, Pakistan shares the sorrow of the Iranian nation in its time of grief.
