ISLAMABAD: Nvidia announced plans to build its first industrial artificial intelligence (AI) cloud platform in Germany, aimed at revolutionizing manufacturing and logistics processes.
The announcement was made by CEO Jensen Huang at the VivaTech conference in Paris.
This AI cloud will integrate robotics and AI to support automakers like BMW and Mercedes-Benz in tasks ranging from product design simulation to logistics management.
Expanding AI Infrastructure Across Europe
Huang revealed a comprehensive strategy to boost AI computing capacity in Europe by tenfold within two years.
The company plans to establish 20 “AI factories” — large-scale facilities dedicated to developing, training, and deploying AI models throughout Europe.
Nvidia also announced technology center expansions in seven European countries and partnerships with local AI companies such as Mistral, which will utilize Nvidia’s latest chips.
European regulators are also investing heavily, with a $20 billion plan to build four AI factories to catch up with the US and China.
The Future of AI and Quantum Computing
Huang emphasized the importance of “sovereign AI,” stating that no country or company can outsource its intelligence capabilities.
He also highlighted the growing role of quantum computing, which promises to solve complex problems far beyond the reach of current AI systems.
According to Huang, quantum technology is reaching an inflection point, with breakthroughs expected in the near future.
This move signals Nvidia’s commitment to maintaining Europe’s competitive edge in AI and next-generation computing technologies.
