Lahore: Acting on instructions from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Food Department has issued an official notification establishing standardized prices for bread and flour throughout the province.
The new price list states that a 100-gram piece of bread (roti) will cost Rs 14, and selling it at any higher rate will lead to legal consequences for the offenders.
For flour, the government has fixed the price of a 10-kilogram bag at Rs. 905, and a 20-kilogram bag at Rs. 1,810. Authorities have made it clear that strict compliance with these prices must be maintained.
The Food Department has also directed district officials to enforce these rates rigorously and ensure immediate penalties for any violations.
