Karachi: WhatsApp’s increasing popularity can be attributed to its constant rollout of new features, one of which is the notification preview. This feature allows users to quickly view incoming messages without opening the app. However, this convenience can sometimes pose a privacy risk, especially when someone else can read the messages displayed on the screen.
If you want to keep your messages private and prevent them from appearing in notifications or on the lock screen, you can disable the message preview feature through WhatsApp’s built-in settings. Here’s how to do it:
Steps to Turn Off Message Previews:
-
Open the WhatsApp app.
-
Tap the three-dot menu in the upper right corner.
-
Go to Settings and select Privacy.
-
Under the App Lock section, enable Biometric Authentication (fingerprint or face unlock).
-
Next, you’ll see an option called Content Notifications. If the notification setting is enabled, simply turn it off.
By disabling this feature, your WhatsApp messages will no longer be visible on the lock screen or in notifications, ensuring your messages remain private.
Experts recommend using this setting for enhanced privacy, as it prevents others from reading your messages without your knowledge or consent.
